IWI to Provide IDF with Follow-Up Order for Micro-Tavor Assault Rifles

2,800 rifles worth NIS 10.5 million will be supplied to the Nahal, Golani, and Givati infantry brigades by 2024

IWI (Israel Weapon Industries) a member of the SK Group and a global producer of small arms for military forces, police units, law enforcement agencies, and governmental entities around the world, will supply the IDF with 2,800 additional Micro-Tavor rifles for the Nahal, Golani, and Givati infantry brigades. IsraelDefense has learned that the order is worth NIS10.5 million and the rifles will be supplied until 2024.

The order for the Micro-Tavor rifle in caliber 5.56x45 with barrel lengths of 380 mm and 419 mm is a follow-up order for the thousands of Micro-Tavors that are currently in IDF service in the various infantry units.

The Micro-Tabor assault rifle has been in service with IDF soldiers since 2006, in addition to other IWI products such as the Negev light machine gun in 5.56x45 and 7.62x51 calibers, the Uzi Pro submachine gun, 40mm grenade launchers, and more.
