SPACE - S0 - 2021072 - Magnetic Health Effects, Sunspot Cycle Activated, Electroquakes

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Well, the DSCOVR satellite charts were pretty much blank for 20 hours yesterday/today, from 0800 UTC to just before 0600 UTC this morning. Luckily, the ACE satellite recorded through the period and solar wind speeds remained generally steady in the 450-500 KPS range, although we did see a sharp drop around 0600 UTC to 380 KPS and then a sharp return and jump to almost 550 KPS just wo hours later. Current speed seems to be back in the 480-510 KPS range. Particle Density remained mostly steady, and there were not too many Temperature variations. However, the Phi Angle was/is another story. Around the time DSCOVR dropped its feed, the Phi Angle started scrambling, caused by a pretty sharp closing of the polarity in the Bt/Bz chart, with several collisions throughout the day. The KP-Index again remained green, but there were a lot more KP-3 readings in the mix. The Magnetometer is building to a good high/low today but remains nominal, as do the Proton Flux and Electron Flux charts. The background radiation on the X-Ray Flux remains in the middle of Class B, and we did have one flare breach the Class C line just before midnight UTC, with another one almost making it to that level ten hours later. You can just see that midnight UTC pop on the video loops at 193Å and 131Å, in the upper Northeast sunspot.
