SPACE - S0 - 20191114 - Coronal Holes, Cosmic Collision, Big Announcement

Good Morning, Observers!

Solar wind speed is up slightly to around 360 KPS (20 KPS rise from yesterday), so we're still waiting for the coronal hole stream to impact. There was a very slight rise in particle density, which usually foreshadows the stream, but we'll have to wait and see. The Phi-angle shows some instability, indicating magnetic coupling with the coronal holes. The KP Index was on the floor for nearly 24 hours, but it did rise to KP-1 and a brief KP-2 around midnight, then back to KP-1 currently. Electron counts rose and then fell again while Protons remained relatively steady. The bright active region incoming in the Southern latitudes looks impressive on the video, but it's actually a bit less active. Seems to have lost about half of its already small sunspots in the last day or so. Muted lithospheric activity, with a Mag 5.5 off Guatemala, a shallow 4.3 about 120 miles NE of Los Angeles, and a deep (83 KM) Mag 5.2 in Pakistan.
