SPACE - S0 - 20191211 - Magnetic Reversal Update, USA Hail Warning, Climate Report
Good Morning, Observers!
Solar wind speeds remain in the 450-470 KPS range, with a brief spike at 500 KPS a couple hours ago. The KP Index was low in the early evening yesterday, but is now in the KP-3 to KP-2 range. That bright spot at the equator from yesterday has faded, and the Southern coronal hole should hit the midpoint in a few hours. A new coronal hole is developing just past the lim in the Northern hemisphere from 30° to 45°, shouldn't reach the central longitude until around the weekend. Japan got another quake, a Mag 5.9 in the Izu Islands, with a Mag 5.2 aftershock less than 30 minutes later.
