SPACE - S0 - 20200411 - Solar Eruption, Big Volcano, Big Announcement

Good Morning, 0bservers!

The solar wind speeds jumped up to around 400 KPS just before noon yesterday, but it calmed back down to the 340-360 KPS range. We're seeing a rise in particle density starting around 0200, so this could be the effect of the coronal hole system from midweek, we'll have to wait and see. The KP Index remains in the calm zone, mostly KP-1 readings with a couple of KP-2s before and after midday. The X-Ray flux has finally dipped below the A-range of flares, with the Northern bright spot's last gasp causing a small CME at the lim (no danger to Earth). The two incoming bright spots in the Southern hemisphere don't seem to be too active or complex, but we'll have to wait to see the underlying spots and their magnetic profiles to be sure. Only one quake of note from yesterday's report, a Mag 5.2 off Japan, but there was also a strong blot echo in the Philippines, a Mag 5.9 with a depth of around 80 miles. Also, just saw a video of an eruption at Krakatoa overnight, even in black and white it was pretty amazing.

Wow, two extra videos in the same week!  Presenting "Unknown Impact on the Magnetic Field?"

Enjoy!
