SPACE - S0 - 20210609 - Seeing the Cycles, Science Ding Dongs, Ganymede

Good Morning, 0bservers!

We saw a pretty steady decline in solar wind speeds since yesterday's report. After hitting a high of around 550 KPS shortly after midnight UTC, they dropped to 400 KPS by 2200 only to surge again to 440 KPS for a couple of hours. Speeds have since stayed in the 375-400 KPS range. Particle Density remained steady throughout the period, and Temperatures dropped below 5000°K around 1500 UTC but spiked back up at midnight UTC and has remained in flux between 4500°K-5100°K since then. The Phi Angle had stabilized for most of the day, but around 1500 UTC we saw some pretty wild shifts. Looks like there was a Bt/Bz convergence at the same time, and a few more around 0200 which really made the charts go nuts. The KP-Index calmed to KP-1 for most of yesterday, but it did bump up to KP-2 at 0600 UTC. Magnetometer readings have returned to a more shallow sine wave pattern, and we're still seeing nominal readings from both Proton and Electron Flux charts. X-Rays, on the other hand, were quite busy yesterday, with four distinct hits into Class C Flare range, one of them around 1000 UTC into the middle of the chart. Background radiation has been jumping around in mid-Class B range for most of the period as well. That final pop on the X-Ray charts is visible at 131Å on the departing lim (upper Northwest), with an earlier surge coming ahead of the Southern sunspot group visible at 193Å. Also seeing some pretty hefty action on the new incoming sunspots at 131Å and 193Å. There appears to be a new and rather long coronal hole system developing from the South pole up toward the equator along the Southwest, just past the lim. We can see a bit of the new sunspots on the Magnetogram as well just crossing in from the South, but I'm also seeing some separate magnetic complexity in the North, about a day or so ahead in the rotation.  Both systems seem to be at Alpha complexity, but remember that this can change, rapidly!
