Good Morning, 0bservers!
Solar winds are calming from yesterday's high of 700 KPS, albeit slowly. It's been a gentle, steady coast down to the 540-560 KPS range after peaking out around 0400 UTC, with Particle Density and Temperature taking a similar track. Phi Angle readings seem to have stabilized. The KP-Index also calmed after yesterday's 9-hour level-1 geomagnetic storm, spending the rest of the day in the green. However, we did get a KP-4 (minor geomagnetic storm) at midnight UTC. The Magnetometer has remained in the nominal category, as well as the Proton Flux, with the Electron Flux still breaching the threshold. The X-Ray Flux has calmed down from yesterday, with background radiation remaining in the upper third of Class A flare range, and the few spikes on the chart unable to reach Class B. The remainders of the coronal hole are passing central heliographic longitude, but it also seems to be uncoupling and waning in strength and cohesiveness. The new sunspots in the South are calmer today, But the Magnetogram readings are definitely showing underlying magnetic complexity. With the trailing spot only about 24-36 hours from passing the midpoint, we're going to have to track this one carefully.
