SPACE - S0 - 20200809 - Magnetic Pole Shift, Shadow-Ban Ends, Pre-Earthquake OLR
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Most of yesterday the solar wind speed fluctuated between 400-450 KPS, but after midnight that started to calm a bit further, currently at 375 KPS. Still a lot of particle density, though. Phi Angle is a bit more stable than the three before it. The KP-Index has also ramped down a bit, although it really wasn't all that "high" to start with - KP-2s reducing to KP-1s, and a couple of KP-0 readings for good measure. No organized coronal hole development along the equator, but the polar hole at the North is the only dominant feature in that regard. Still a lot of bright spot activity, with the largest one in the Northern hemisphere reaching the lim, and more new ones coming in from the Southern lim. No flare activity overnight, but the bright spots are keeping the X-Ray flux within the Class A flare range. Alaska got a pair of quakes yesterday, a Mag 5.3 about 75 miles SSE of Perryville and a Mag 5.5 about 40 miles ESE of King Cove an hour later, and a smattering of blot echo activity to round things out.
