SPACE - S0 - 20200817 - Sun Erupts at Earth, Coldest Star, Solar BioRisk, The Sheet
Good Morning, 0bservers!
After yesterday's small jump in solar wind speeds, we didn't see much in the way of change, with the winds only creeping up to a max of 340 KPS. We did see a pretty sharp rise in temperature (getting close to 5000K before midnight), and particle density is up a bit as well. However, that didn't make a dent in the KP-Index, as we're back to a solid line of KP-1 readings after yesterday's single KP-2. The X-Ray Flux bumped up to the top of B Class readings due to an expulsion from the bright spot in the South (which we might get the edge of in a couple of days). A lot of brightness at the Eastern lim suggest we've got more sunspot activity to look forward to as the days progress. We are seeing a lot of coronal hole development along the equator since yesterday, approaching central heliographic longitude. Alaska had another offshore temblor yesterday afternoon, coming in about 125 miles SW of Nikolski Alaska.
