SPACE - S0 - 20200810 - Rapid Solar Climate Forcing, Deadly Storms, Rare Quake
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Had another weird day on the receptors and sensors yesterday, with wild fluctuations in the readings for solar wind speed, particle density and temperature. "Wild" is defined as speed ranges from 360 KPS to 460 KPS in a matter of minutes, going back and forth like that for hours. However, after midnight the readings stabilized and we're currently at 320 KPS. The odd readings from the DISCOVR platform, however, are belied by the KP-Index chart, which showed very calm results in the KP-0 and KP-1 range. The last of the three bright spots in the Northern hemisphere is just passing the midpoint now, and the underlying sunspot is depolarizing and disintegrating. However, we still have the newer bright spots still developing at the Southeast lim. The lithosphere was busy close to home, starting with a Mag 5.1 just South of Sparta, North Carolina, a Mag 5.2 along the Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge, a pair of temblors both North and South of Perryville, Alaska (Mag 5.4 and Mag 5.7), a Mag 5.4 in the Prince Edward Island region, and a Mag 5.6 Southwest of the African Continent about midway toward Antarctica.
