SPACE - S0 - 20210123 - The Disaster Cycle, Sun and Ice

Good Morning, 0bservers!

We were hitting a low of 290 KPS early yesterday morning, but the solar winds decided to ramp up around midday to 360 KPS. It has since calmed down into the 310-320 KPS range. Temperatures followed the same pattern as wind, but Particle Density stayed pretty flat throughout. The Phi Angle took a sharp shift around the same time as the wind speed increase, so, driving force anyone? The KP-Index remained quite calm, with mostly KP-1 readings and a few KP-0s. No excitement on the Electron Flux, Proton Flux or Magnetometer charts. The X-Ray Flux is continuing the relative calm of yesterday, with only one surge around midnight UTC into the lower tenth of the Class B flare range. The coronal hole just South of the equator passed the midpoint yesterday, and I'm seeing no new hole development on the video loops. That new sunspot group up North has finally crossed the lim, and although the angle is not great you can see what looks like Alpha class separation on the positive/negative groupings. As we all know, that can change pretty quickly, so Eyes 0pen here, folks...
