SPACE - S0 - 20210116 - Magnetic Snakes, Magnetic Galaxies, Magnetic Trigger

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds pretty much stayed in the 290-310 KPS range through most of yesterday and this morning, until it took a sharp upturn around 0900 UTC to 350 KPS. Temperature readings also rose around the same time, while the Particle Density dropped. This may be due to a building shift in the Phi Angle from 0° to 200°. Today's KP-Index almost mirrored yesterday's readings with mostly KP-0s and a couple KP-1s, and a brief KP-2 after midnight. Nominal readings for the Proton Flux, Electron Flux and Magnetometer charts. The X-Ray Flux, though, started a steady climb throughout yesterday from the bottom of the Class A flare range to the top, with a minor flare just touching the Class B line. This may be due to the strengthening of some of the bright spots in the South (at or passed the midpoint) which have been gaining some underlying magnetic complexity. The Northern Polar coronal hole is passing the midpoint now and it has reached around 50° latitude, so we should be seeing some of the flow from both North and South holes by Monday or Tuesday.
