Good Morning, 0bservers!
Well, despite a six hour gap in the DSCOVR readings, we do have enough dat to show the majority of the coronal hole activity has passed. Solar wind speeds topped out around 355 KPS yesterday morning, but just after midnight UTC it took a downturn and is currently in the 300-310 KPS range. Particle Density was flat as a pancake, and Temperatures were reduced along with the winds. KP-Index readings are green and generally calm, and we're seeing nominal results from the Magnetometer, Proton Flux and Electron Flux charts. The X-Ray Flux is still "jumpy" but they are at most hitting the middle of the Class B flare range. The video loops show a lot of sparking and surging in the sunspot group (well, when you're not being distracted by the wacky "roll" program that screws up several frames), and I'm seeing a new bright spot appearing at the Northeast lim (around 45°). The coronal hole system at the South pole seems to be trying to connect with the large equatorial hole as it approaches the midpoint, which could result in higher coronal discharge hitting Earth.
