SPACE - S0 - 20210414 - Recurrent Nova, Volcano Signs, Snow Chaos Coming
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Solar wind speeds increased soon after a Phi Angle shift around 1500 UTC jumped the Particle Density a bit. At 1000 UTC and 1800 UTC the winds were at their nadir of 340 KPS, but after the second drop there was an increase that hit a high of 410 KPS around 0800 UTC. Temperatures followed the wind speed path upward around the same time, but without such a marked increase. The KP-Index remained happily green with KP-1s and KP-2s throughout the period. The Magnetometer's peak hit nearly 130 nT, but the lowest point was higher than yesterday instead of lower. Might be seeing a correction or evening out by tomorrow. Nominal readings again from Proton Flux and Electron Flux charts. The X-Ray Flux chart is calmer than the previous day, but there were still a few spikes into the low to mid-Class B flare range, and the background radiation is in the higher ranks of Class A. Video loops show the sunspot at 20° South passed the midpoint without incident, but we're still in the "danger zone" of that sucker for at least another 48 hours. The large coronal hole system beneath it is also starting to cross the centerline, but that process will take a couple of days as well. Once the more Northerly portion starts to cross tomorrow, we can expect some increases in geomagnetic disturbances here on Earth.
