SPACE - S0 - 20210410 - Magnetic Events are Always Bad, Volcano Eruptions, Space Lightning
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Looks like yesterday topped out at 430 KPS, around the time of the last report. At this writing, we're seeing a range of 330-360 KPS. Particle Density was a bit lower yesterday, and then dropped significantly around 0300 for four hours before returning to its previous level. Temperatures were lower as well, and the Phi Angle stabilized (more or less) after midnight UTC. KP-Index readings remained calm, with only one KP-2 early yesterday, going back down to a mix of KP-0s and KP-1s. The Magnetometer sine wave has shallowed for the third day in a row, so we might be in for a hi/lo spike tomorrow. Proton Flux and Electron Flux readings are nominal (that's science-talk for dull). Same goes for the X-Ray Flux, which had no spikes and a background level riding the bottom of the Class A flare line. The main coronal hole in the North passed the midpoint around 2000-2200 UTC, and we're seeing an expansion of the polar hole in the South.
