SPACE - S0 - 20200206 - Solar Wind Impact, Big Storms, Space is Tricky

Good Morning, 0bservers!

The coronal hole from the weekend has finally impacted Earth, ramping up just after midnight UTC from a low of 360 KPS to a peak of 460 KPS, current speed 445 KPS. The KP Index did a similar jump, with the latest readings going from KP-1 to KP-2 to KP-4 (minor geomagnetic disruption). The Northern coronal hole is extending toward the equator and continuing its turn to the midpoint, arriving there probably late Thursday or early Friday. The new bright spots are more visible now, but the one just South of the equator seems to have already collapsed.  There don't appear to be any underlying sunspots there. Australia experienced a shallow Mag 5.6, there was a very deep (592 KM) Mag 6.2 blot echo North of Indonesia at the transition zone between the upper and lower mantle, and another shallow Mag 5.2 in Greece.
