SPACE - S0 - 20200207 - Beaufort Gyre - Worse than Feared, Galactic Trigger

SPACE - S0 - 20200207 - Beaufort Gyre - Worse than Feared, Galactic Trigger

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar wind speeds crested around 0200 UTC at 680 KPS and it has been steadily dropping since then to a current speed of 610 KPS. KP Index readings were mostly in the KP-3 range, with a second KP-4 spike yesterday before the winds reached their peak. The Northern coronal hole is just about at the midpoint now, and the bright spots we saw on the lim a couple of days ago continue to decay. Some quakes of note include a Mag 5.3 off Japan, and a deep Mag 6.0 off the Philippines, with the usual smattering of blot echo activity.
