SPACE - S0 - 20200223 - Animals Sense Quakes, Cold & Chaos, LHC Search

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds took a brief upturn into the 550 KPS range, but after that it started a slow drift downward to its current speed of 415 KPS. The KP Index stayed in the green, mostly KP-2s and then drifting down into KP-1 and even KP-0 territory. A new coronal hole tendril is creeping Northward from the Southern polar coronal hole. Couple that with the fact that Earth's orbit is approaching its most Southern position, and we're probably going to see greater potential from the polar hole in general for a while. Have to wait and see. A number of bright spots are popping up all over the surface, and the one on the equator that suddenly came up yesterday seems to be churning a bit, but I'm not seeing any underlying magnetic complexity as yet. The lithosphere was bit more jumpy in the past 24 hours, with a host of temblors -- a pair of Mag 5.2s off Tonga, a Mag 5.5 and then a 5.0 at the West Chile Rise with another 5.0 about 30 miles from Ovalle Chile, a Mag 5.3 in the Molucca Sea, a Mag 5.1 around 80 miles off Indonesia, and a sharp Mag 5.7 not too far from Saray in Turkey.

Quick housekeeping note: Many thanks to Pud for the latest updated invite lists. If you think I've missed somebody, let him know and we'll make sure you're included.
