SPACE - S0 - 20200312 - Paradigm Shift Demanded, Big Nova, Meltwater Pulse

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar wind speed jumped up a bit overnight from a low of 310 KPS to a current high of 350 KPS. Despite the minor jump, this is probably not the leading edge of the coronal hole activity from earlier in the week, despite the particle density rise just before the increase in speed. The KP Index rose slightly as the speed ramped upward, but only to KP-2, well within the safe zone. No further flare activity from that bright spot, but it is still within the danger zone if it pops again, so we'll be watching that. No real coronal hole activity beyond the polar zones. Only a pair of notable quakes yesterday, both Mag 5.3, one off Papua New Guinea and the other off Tonga.
