SPACE - S0 - 20200912 - La Nina Arrives, Volcanic - Climate - Solar Storm Risk

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds rose around midday UTC yesterday, albeit weakly, from a low of 275 KPS to around 320 KPS, settling back to near 300 KPS right after midnight before rising again to 340 KPS. It appears to be driven more by a Phi Angle shift than any real increased flow. The good news of this is that the KP-Index is fully out of the doldrums, erasing the Cosmic Ray health risks from a couple of days ago with a couple of KP-2 readings, and even a KP-3 at last report (still well within the safe range). The Electron Flux is still going above the threshold but then dipping below it 12 hours later. The X-Ray Flux also rose up into the low end of Class A readings briefly, but has settled back since then. Solar video loops are generally quiet, with the Southern coronal hole tendril from yesterday becoming disorganized as it passed the midpoint, and very little in the way of bright spot activity. The lithosphere is quiet again, with only a handful of blot echo activity and two notable quakes, a Mag 5.9 off the East coast of Japan and another Mag 5.9 Northwest of Port-Vila Vanuatu.
