SPACE - S0 - 20200923 - Mass Stranding, Climate Tipping Point, Exoplanets

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar wind speeds had a slow and steady escalation throughout yesterday, from a low of around 310 KPS to a peak of 380 KPS a few hours ago. We did see a rise in particle density, not preceding the wind speed increase but following it. Didn't see any bump in the KP-Index, in fact it calmed a bit down to KP-1 levels, with a KP-2 sneaking in there just after midnight. X-Ray flux remains in the upper Class A range right now, from the incoming sunspot group. And it is a BIG group. Can't see the polarity groupings in the images I've seen, but the spot itself is pretty large. However, it does appear to be decaying. Still, keep an eye on this. One of the coronal holes that dropped down from the North pole is just passing the midpoint at this writing. There is a much larger coronal hole developing behind that one, and just in front of the sunspot group. That one has a far greater potential for a strong coronal hole stream. Meanwhile, back on the planet, we didn't really have a lot of quake activity yesterday. There were seven blot echoes in the Mag 4.0-4.8 range, and a pair of temblors (Mag 5.4 and Mag 5.2) about ten minutes apart in the South Shetland islands.
