SPACE - S0 - 20210228 - Electric Space Hurricane, Solar Flares, New X-Ray Views

Good Morning, 0bservers!

A slower day for solar winds again, as they continued their downward track to the 340-370 KPS range (from yesterday's high of 450 KPS right at midnight UTC, before "the curve" was so pronounced). Temperatures definitely went up (and down) but stayed at a higher level than yesterday. Particle Density (almost wrote particle dentistry there, don't know why) stayed steady for most of the period, with minor variations. The Phi Angle was a bit more steady than before, but it still has some motion on the chart. The KP-Index was much lower, with KP-1 readings predominating. The Magnetometer continues to even out, the Electron Flux is only flirting with the threshold levels now, and Proton Flux? Well, we love Proton Flux... [insert sigh of frustration over proton flux's lack of ambition here] The X-Ray Flux, on the other hand, was in a bit of a foul mood, chucking some pretty hefty spikes into mid-Class C flare range twice yesterday. That said, the background radiation levels did move lower into the Class A flare range. The video loop clearly shows both pops from the departing Northern coronal hole group. Didn't see any ejecta though, neither at 193Å nor 304Å.
