Integrated Capstone Exercise 1901 (ICE 1901) is a force-on-force exercise integrating all nine nations from NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence Battlegroup Latvia (eFP BG Latvia).
ICE 1901, held February 18-26 , 2019 in Latvia, saw the eFP BG integrate as part of the Latvian Mechanized Brigade. ICE 1901 is the keystone training event for this the current rotation of the eFP BG Latvia. It enables all the nine nations (Albania, Canada, Czech Republic, Italy, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain) to work together as a single team, and deliver a scalable, agile, and responsive military option to challenges in the Baltic.
The Canadian Manoeuvre Training Centre developed ICE 1901 in close cooperation with the Latvian Mechanized Brigade to produce an immersive and complex exercise for eFP BG Latvia to maintain and sharpen their war-fighting skills.
ICE 1901 involved over 1,100 military personnel and about 250 military vehicles. This video gives you a bird’s-eye view of many of these vehicles in formation. How many can you name?
