SPACE - S0 - 20200113 - Volcano Pressure Rising, Electroquakes, Solar Storm Study

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds continued to calm from their high of around 450 KPS to the current level of 350 KPS. Similarly, the KP Index has been mostly in the KP-1 range with a couple of KP-0s (and a minor cosmic ray spike on the detectors not long after the last one). The equatorial bright spot just passed the meridian, but it doesn't look like it has done anything (yet). Still, Earth will be in range of any CMEs for at least the next 48 hours. Some coronal hole development seems to be starting in the Northern hemisphere right now, and we should be feeling the effect of previous holes in about 12-24 hours, with these new holes breezing by later in the week.. Quake-wise, things haven't been too severe, but there was a major volcanic eruption at the Taal volcano in the Philippines, with the risk of a volcanic tsunami from its nearby lake. Pressure buildup continues, so it could be a bad one there. There was a Mag 5.1 near the volcano, and Mag 5.2 near the Solomons. Argentina had a Mag 5.3, and Puerto Rico continues to shudder from a long series of low aftershocks. And here's an odd one - a Mag 3.4 in New York State (shallow, about 5 KM deep).
