Good Morning, 0bservers!
Looks like a Phi-Angle shift in the solar magnetic field really bumped up the winds, ramping up to a high of 560 KPS (currently running in the 500 KPS range). There was also a rise in particle density right before the speed increase, possibly from a grouping of coronal holes that passed the meridian a couple of days ago. This resulted in a rise in the KP Index readings, with a couple of KP-4 hits on the chart (minor solar storm levels), with the remainder in the KP-2 to KP-3 range. Continuing downward spikes in the Electron counts during the worst of that, with recent calming in the last two hours. The lithosphere was a bit busier as well, with a Mag. 5.6 off the West Coast of Africa just north of the equator, and a rather strong (Mag. 5.8) blot echo in Southern Mexico, about 100 KM deep. The real zinger was a Mag. 5.7 a little while ago in Puerto Rico, which could foreshadow a risk to the Eastern seaboard should the PR trench collapse during a larger quake, causing a rather nasty tsunami.
