SPACE - S0 - 20200109 - Sunspots, Climate, Earthquakes, Nova, Cosmos

Good Morning, 0bservers!

The solar winds went up again to close to 480 KPS due to the coronal holes that passed the meridian a few days ago, but has gone down a bit to a current 440 KPS. There was a major cosmic ray hit on the detectors a few hours despite the higher wind speeds. The KP Index also rose to the KP-2/KP-3 range with the latest reading hitting KP-4 (low storm). This is the second day with no solar video on the website, but today's video above does show a new group that popped up in the upper latitudes North and well away from the meridian, with some interesting sunspot cores much larger than the ones to the South. The equatorial spot group seems to be decaying but still is showing some pretty impressive penumbras. On the lithospheric front, Russia had a serious Mag 6.3 just before 0400 EST.
