SPACE - S0 - 20200116 - Mystery Galactic Objects, Gamma Rays, Climate

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar wind speeds finally ticked upward, with a current reading of 380 KPS, rising after midnight UTC after hovering around the 300 KPS range all day yesterday. The rise was presaged by a shift in the Phi-Angle, and the KP Index finally crawled off the floor to hit a high of KP-3 a few hours ago, and KP-2 at the last reading. The bright spot that passed the midpoint a couple days ago popped again with another CME, but it appears to have stayed within the solar atmosphere, shooting Northward again instead of outward. A new coronal hole system has just arrived at the meridian, so expect a bit of a breeze from it by the weekend. We had a few more temblors as well, with the latest being a Mag 5.5 North of Ascension Island, preceded by a Mag 5.3 in China, a Mag 5.1 in Puerto Rico, a Mag 5.0 in Argentina and a Mag 5.2 in Mexico.
