SPACE - S0 - 20200118 - Blizzard, Locusts, Electric Fields, Planetary Alignments

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds stayed relatively steady, only increasing slightly to around 350 KPS. The KP Index was mostly in the KP-1 range, with a KP-2 occurring around the same time as a cosmic ray strike on the detectors. A bright spot in the North-East quadrant looks like it did a little intra-coronal pop, but this won't have any effect on Earth as it occurred facing "behind" our planet, so even if any energies did escape it would be going to a part of our orbit we've already passed by. Coronal holes coming in and out of phase, and some solar wind effects could get to us by Monday or Tuesday. There was a double-whammy over 100 miles East of New Zealand with a Mag 5.3 followed by a Mag 5.2 less than 20 minutes later. China also ended up with a Mag 5.3.
