SPACE - S0 - 20200120 - Electromagnetism, 3 Big Quakes, Observers Research

Good Morning, 0bservers!

There was a CME from a bright spot in the Northeast quadrant (above 50° latitude, not close to the midpoint) so there should be little if any planetary effect. Indeed, the solar wind rose slightly in the late morning, only to drop during the day to a low of 280 KPS and then rising again to 320 KPS - current speed 295 KPS. We remain in the low end of the KP Index, with a continuation of KP-1/KP-0 readings, so keep an eye on this if we don't get a significant solar wind increase tomorrow from the passing coronal hole a couple of days ago. The only quake of note was a Mag 5.8 again in China, and a couple of Mag 6 blot echos, with an actual Mag 4.4 in Kansas City (wondering if it happened while the crowd at the game was listening to "We Will Rock You"...).
