SPACE - S0 - 20201003 - Nova Shells, Polar Fields of the Galactic Current Sheet
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Not sure, but I think we dodged a bullet with the coronal hole stream. Maybe it did overshoot us from the North, going literally over our heads. Solar wind speeds spent all of yesterday calming down, from a morning peak of 540 KPS down to a current range of 450-470 KPS. Particle density and temperature are also steady to slightly lower. The Phi Angle didn't have any wild shifts, but it's still less than solid. The Electron Flux hasn't been below the threshold in a couple of days now, and the X-Ray Flux is still in the upper Class A flare range, but it's down slightly from yesterday. The KP-Index remained in the green all day yesterday, mostly KP-2s with a few KP-3s. No new coronal holes, and no major bright spots on the Earth-facing surface. I am seeing a bit of glow at the Southeast lim, so we might have some incoming activity there. There was only a single Mag 5.1 less than 60 miles Northwest of Port-Vila, Vanuatu, and a few mild blot echoes.
