Good Morning, 0bservers!
Solar winds lowered throughout most of Sunday, down to about 310 KPS around 1600 UTC, but it started a bump up to nearly 400 KPS by 2100 UTC. After 0130 UTC, it took another jump to about 430 KPS. You could see Particle Density on the charts take a strong dip around 1930 UTC and then a rise back around midnight UTC. Temperature readings dipped around the same time the wind speeds hit their low, then rose again a few hours later. Phi Angle readings were mostly steady, but they did start to mix it up a bit when wind speeds hit their high point early this morning. KP-Index readings were mostly unaffected by this, staying with KP-1 and KP-2 levels throughout the period. Magnetometer, Proton Flux and Electron Flux readings are nominal across the board. No significant spikes in the X-Ray Flux charts, but there has been a steady rise over the last two days in the background radiation, now riding the high end of the Class A flare row. Both the equatorial and Southern polar coronal holes are passing the midpoint right now, and will continue to do so for 18-36 hours. They're very close to being merged, so expect some increased KP-Index levels from these by Wednesday. We've got some new bright spots approaching the Eastern lim, one North at about 40 and the other South at about 15. The large sunspot group is turning closer to the Western lim and (mostly) out of the danger zone, with the Southern spot about a day behind that. Still some risk there, as they are still retaining magnetic complexity. What worries me is that there's also magnetic complexity in a more low-key sunspot group trailing the upper part of the equatorial coronal hole. It appears to be Beta level at worst, but those can still produce negative effects should this decided to pop. Eyes 0pen, No Fear... (okay, okay, maybe a little bit of fear)
