SPACE - S0 - 20200517 - The Sun CAN Nova, Climate Model Forcings and Failures

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds remained in the "slow" zone, staying in the 290-330 KPS range, currently tooling along at a moderate 310 KPS. Particle density have had a slow rise since a very deep low yesterday morning, but nothing that suggests a notable coronal hole impact. I guess those holes from three days ago just didn't have the oomph we were expecting. The KP-Index had another brief flirtation with KP-2, otherwise staying below that in all other readings. However, the X-Ray Flux stayed in the A-Class range, with one brief spike juuuuust under the B-Class. The bright spots (plural) in the Northeast are now being joined by a new bright spot crossing the Southeast lim. Can't yet see any underlying spots or magnetic complexity, but they're definitely active regions when viewed at 304Å (ionized helium). Canada topped the lithospheric charts with a Mag 5.9 just west of Grand Cache. The only other quake above 5 was a blot echo, Mag 5.3 north of Tonga.
