SPACE - S0 - 20201106 - Life on Mars, Solar Wind, Disaster Stories

Good Morning, 0bservers!

The expected coronal hole streams finally started impacting Earth, beginning with a midday rise in particle density, followed by a scrambling of the Phi Angle, and from there we saw solar wind speeds move from a low of under 300 KPS to a high of around 500 KPS, dipping to around 460 KPS around 0600 EST. That also caused a pretty steep rise and fall in the magnetometer readings, peaking above 140 nanoTeslas before dropping down to only 45 nT. Surprisingly, the KP-Index has remained pretty calm, rising only to KP-2 readings as the higher wind speeds and density hit. The Electron Flux readings bumped above the threshold for a couple hours before dropping back down. The X-Ray Flux detectors are still reading a lot of spikes in the high B to low C Class flare range. The video loops in various wavelengths were showing this minor flare and pop activity, but none of it appears to have included ejecta that made it out of the solar atmosphere. The magnetogram continues to show the magnetic underpinnings of the bright spots, with a new one that appeared in the midst of the departing coronal holes - small and currently simple. The other two approaching the midpoint are far larger and more complex.
