SPACE - S0 - 20201108 - Cosmic Rays at Max, Superflare News, Climate Fail
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Solar winds took a brief jump yesterday morning to 550 KPS, but spent the rest of the time slowly starting a downward slide, with current speeds in the 430-450 KPS range. Particle density and temperature were likewise steady to slightly lower. The KP-Index again remained in the green with mostly KP-1 readings throughout the day, but we did see a brief rise to KP-3 just before midnight UTC, calming to KP-2 thereafter. The X-Ray Flux recorded a very strong C Class flare around 0500 UTC, with a smaller flare in the same range a few hours earlier. Looks like that burst came from the Northern sunspot group as it passed the midpoint. The Southern sunspot group is far larger and more complex, but so far we've been relatively lucky on that location. There's a good-sized coronal hole approaching midpoint as well, and that should cross in the next 24-36 hours.
