SPACE - S0 - 20201111 - Earth Internal Skeleton, Cosmic Ray Alert Continues
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Remember, Remember, Eleven November...
We had a single KP-1 reading yesterday morning, but it dropped right back down to KP-0, so we're still in an alert status here, folks. Eyes 0pen, No Fear, but at least some sensible precaution and enhanced observation for yourself and your loved ones who might be at risk.
Solar wind speeds again headed downward, from a peak of 360 KPS yesterday UTC to the 300-320 KPS range at this writing. Particle density actually rose a bit earlier, but the temperatures stayed in the same general range. The Phi Angle is stable, Electron Flux is below the threshold, and the X-Ray Flux remained in the lower half of the Class B flare range with the exception of a flare spike that cracked into low Class C range which looks to have occurred around 2000 UTC. The videos show some sparking and surging on the new incoming bright spots, so the lower one is the probable culprit for this event. Checked the SDO HMI Magnetogram Image for the incoming sunspots at the lim, and the one closer to the equator appears weak and disorganized, while the one South of it seems larger and more magnetically complex. It's not as big as the departing sunspot group in the South that passed the midpoint yesterday, but as we know, these li'l suckers can grow.
Remember, when it comes to Zero Day Alerts... Eyes 0pen, No Fear! Be safe, everyone!
