Report in Greece: Israel's Emtan bidding to supply light weapons to Greek Army
The company is said to be offering the 9 mm "Ramon" pistol and the 5.56 mm MZ-4 assault rifle

The Greek website Defencepoint.gr reported that Israeli company Emtan, a manufacturer of small arms, is participating in a tender for the supply of light weapons to the Greek army. According to the report, which is based on sources in the Greek Army, the company is offering the 9 mm "Ramon" pistol and the 5.56 mm MZ-4 assault rifle. The report says Emtan is the second Israeli company competing for the tender. It is estimated that the other Israeli company is Israel Weapons Industries (IWI).

It was reported that the Ramon pistol underwent a series of comprehensive and demanding field tests last June and left an excellent impression, while the MZ-4 is due to be tested in the coming days. Senior executives of Emtan, who are said to have visited Greece, will reportedly visit again and discuss with the Greeks the possibility of joint and local production of the light weapons if the company wins the tender.
