The US Army Operational Test Command has started assessing the M2A4, the latest version of the Bradley fighting vehicle. The tests are taking place at the facilities of the First Cavalry Division's Third Cavalry Regiment, located at the Fort Hood base in Texas.

The updated version of the Bradley vehicle was developed by BAE Systems under a contract with the US Army as part of the strategy for modernizing the military's fighting vehicles, helping to ensure the readiness of Armored Brigade Combat Teams (ABCTs).

The modification of the A4 series includes the installation of a new 8-cylinder, 675-horsepower Cummins VTA903E-T675 diesel engine and an HMPT-800-3ECB hydraulic transmission, which will enable the M2A4 Bradley to integrate the Iron Fist system that was developed by Israel's Elbit Systems.
