SPACE - S0 - 20201202 - Earthquake Uptick, Galactic Extinctions, Mars Mission Risk

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Remember that wild and fast solar wind speed change I reported yesterday? Well, apparently the Sun read it and replied "Hold my beer"... Just after 0100 UTC the detectors did a bit of a bounce, from 320 KPS all the way up to 595 KPS and back in a matter of minutes. The actual background winds, however, have stayed in the general vicinity of 400 KPS, where it currently resides. The chart scrambling also occurred with the Temperature and Particle Density, although their overall track is steady. Phi Angle readings are mostly polar (North) with a bit of variation, but no wild swings. The KP-Index were pretty low yesterday, prompting a Cosmic Ray Health Advisory, with moderate to strong warnings for high-risk cardiac and psychiatric patients. We did get a KP-2 reading just prior to this report, but remember that the effects above last for 24 hours after the readings rise again. The Proton Flux count which had been rising for a few days began to drop yesterday and are approaching their normal background levels and the Electron Flux remains nominal. The X-Ray Flux background levels lowered slightly from yesterday's report, with a single small spike into Class C around midnight UTC.
