SPACE - S0 - 20201209 - Calm Before the Storm, Fast Freezes, Seismic Signals
Good Morning, 0bservers!
Solar wind speeds remained moderate throughout yesterday (despite a six hour gap in detector readings again) staying in the 340-360 KPS range. Looks like it did start to increase around 0500 UTC, but it only peaked at just over 400 KPS and the current range is 370-380 KPS, so it's not exactly a massive surge. Temperature and Particle Density also went up a bit. The KP-Index remained in the low range with KP-1s and KP-2s predominating, with a KP-3 reading just a while ago before it sloped back down. We'll see if that increases today due to the coronal hole stream in combination with the CME from Monday. Proton, Electron, and Magnetometer readings are nominal. The X-Ray Flux showed a steady curve after the CME down to the upper Class A flare range, with some minor spikes into low/mid Class B range. The video loops are showing another sunspot group approaching the midpoint, after the coronal holes passed it yesterday. Also seeing some potential bright spots turning in from the Eastern lim.
