SPACE - S0 - 20201206 - How Much Has Earth's Magnetic Field Lost?

SPACE - S0 - 20201206 - How Much Has Earth's Magnetic Field Lost?

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar wind speeds dropped precipitously around midday yesterday from 500 KPS to 400 KPS, and then slowly continued to reduce speed to around 350 KPS. Temperature levels also dropped, but Particle Density actually went up slightly. The latter might've been due to Phi Angle activity. The KP-Index came back up after a (thankfully) brief string of KP-0 readings, showing just KP-1s and KP-2s. Proton and Electron Flux levels remain nominal. The Magnetometer looks like it's starting to come back to a normal, yet jagged, sine-wave structure. The X-Ray Flux continued to have brief Class C spikes from a mid-Class B background. The coronal holes at the equator and the Northern mid-latitudes are passing the midpoint right now, and the stream should arrive by Wednesday/Thursday. Since the last one seems to have only had a glancing blow to the planet, we'll have to wait and see just how strongly this comes through.
