SPACE - S0 - 20201203 - Gamma Rays, Novae, Stellar Flares, Greenland

Good Morning, 0bservers!

Solar winds calmed sharply after yesterday's up-again-down-again-Harrigan ride, making a 100 KPS drop following a four-hour data drop-out on the DISCOVR sensors to around 450 KPS, and then slowly continuing downward over the next 22 hours to around 360-380 KPS. Particle Density and Temperature followed pretty much the same path, and the Phi Angle activity stayed about the same as the previous report. The KP-Index did stay off the floor yesterday, but only just. The KP-2 I reported yesterday was the only one, and we were back to KP-1s. We've also had a couple of KP-0s in the early hours of today, so we might want to keep an eye on that today and tomorrow in case we have another Cosmic Ray Health Alert. The Proton Flux has bumped up slightly but is still well within the safe zone. The Electron Flux did crest the threshold line yesterday, but briefly and barely. The Magnetometer readings did elevate somewhat, peaking at around 120 nanoTeslas, but it still remains mostly nominal in its movements. Had a short Class C flare spike just around 0200 UTC, with another bump just on the C line a couple hours later, but otherwise the background X-Ray readings stayed in the mid-to-upper Class B range.
